The Rotary Club of Panday Pira Foundation (“RCPPF”) through its President, Mr. Danilo V. Ayap, and Project Chairman, Mr. Romeo C. Nones has requested a meeting with Physicians for Peace Philippines (“PFPP”) COO, Ms. Lyne A. Abanilla, sometime August to help them come up with a project for children, where their funds can have a special purpose.
Walking Free, one of the Pioneer projects of Physicians for Peace Philippines spearheaded by its Chairman and President, Dr. Josephine R. Bundoc, has been brought up to the table for discussion, and immediately after that, approved without second thoughts by RCPPF.
During the first week of September (September 5, 2024), RCPPF and PFPP met again. This time, the chosen hospital beneficiary was at the National Children’s Hospital (“NCH”) in Quezon City. They met again to make formal their agreement to help and what better way to do this in front of the beneficiaries themselves, children with their parents, and witnessed by the Chairman of the Rehab Department of the National Children’s Hospital (NCH), Dr. Ed Peregrino. RCPPF and PFPP have committed to providing Ankle Foot Orthoses to Twenty (20) children and below-knee prostheses to Six (6) children below 18 years of age. On the same day, the PFPP team provided for the assessment, screening, measurement, etc.
This coming December will be the dispensing day. Children and their parents who will benefit from this grant are just as eager and excited for upcoming CHRISTMAS because this year 2024 their CHRISTMAS will have a different meaning…..giving the children the hope and the chance to walk again.
