A Journey To Good Vision

Once again , it’s time to check these cute kids vision . Screening the little ones was quite difficult on our part, maybe because of the humid weather . The kids  where quite impatient with the vision care activity  some are crying , shouting , whining , while others did  their own stuff. It’s a good thing I have brought with me  a basketful of patience, a dash of imagination and a pinch of skill.  My childhood was  the first thing that dawned on me. And  paper boat making I think would be the key. I told them that I will make a bunch  of paper boats to those kids who allowed their vision to be check by their teacher. Indeed ,it demonstrated a positive outcome and agreed with the bargain. The kids where quite amazed with my skill.

The Optometrist had accomplished 8 classes  ( 6 section on grade 1 and 2 section for kindergarten).   A total of 284 kids were screened and found 39 kids that needed further evaluation.

Tips on enticing kids to join an activity:

  1. Create an interesting environment.
  2. Follow children’s curiosity in the immediate surrounding.
  3. offer play material to catch their attention
  4. motivate and open the doorway to their enthusiasm
