From Leyte with Love: PFPP COO Joins Rotary’s Celebration of Service

Palo, Leyte, Philippines – The air in Palo, Leyte, recently hummed with the vibrant energy of camaraderie and shared purpose as Rotarians from across the Visayas gathered for the much-anticipated District Conference of RI D3860. And for Physicians for Peace Philippines (PFPP), it was an immense honor to be part of this spectacular event, under the exceptional leadership of Governor Caroline Lee Andrade.

As the Chief Operating Officer of PFPP, I, Lyne Abanilla, had the distinct privilege of being invited as a plenary speaker at this truly inspiring “DisCon.” It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow Rotarians, those tireless advocates for community betterment who exemplify the very best of service. The annual district conference is more than an awards ceremony. While recognizing accomplishments is important, it also serves as a key opportunity to strengthen bonds, exchange crucial insights, and learn innovative approaches. This shared knowledge empowers us to keep carrying out heartfelt service projects effectively in our own communities.

PFPP and Rotary have long been close partners, forming a strong alliance in their dedication to serving humanity. This joint commitment to building a healthier and more inclusive world is clearly reflected in events like this District Conference. Witnessing firsthand the devotion, enthusiasm, and the truly remarkable “magic of Rotary” is always a profoundly touching and important experience.

Inspiring collaboration and rich discussions marked the gathering in Leyte, with Rotarians demonstrating their unwavering commitment to communities through innovative service methods. The event showcased the powerful potential of united purpose, particularly when organizations such as PFPP and Rotary work together, resulting in limitless impact.

As we look back on the “Spectacular Enchanting DisCon,” we carry with us not just memories, but renewed energy and a deeper sense of connection. It was indeed an “Inspiring Discover Reason To Celebrate,” and PFPP is incredibly grateful for the invitation to be part of such a significant event. Here’s to more years of #RotaryAndPhysiciansforPeaceUnitedInServiceForHumanity, serving with love, and continuing to make a tangible difference in the lives of our fellow Filipinos.
