PHYSICIANS for PEACE PHILIPPINES (PFPP) is an affiliate of Physicians for Peace based in Norfolk, Virginia, USA dedicated to building peace and friendships in developing nations with unmet medical needs and scarce resources through medical education and training, clinical care and donated medical supplies. Physicians for Peace transforms lives by training, supporting and empowering healthcare professionals working with the underserved populations.

Physicians for Peace Philippines (PFPP) changes lives through its Medical Training Programs, Direct Medical Services and Advocacies. PFPP sends Medical Doctors in various medical fields to schools, communities and institutions to fill in the gaps in medical services. It provides equipment to needy hospitals, partner organizations and beneficiary institutions. Currently, PFPP has the following flagship programs: Walking Free, Seeing Clearly, Burn Care and Rehabilitation, Hearing Health Care and Multi-Specialty Surgery.

PFPP focuses on long-term, sustainable, replicable medical education and training. It sends teams of medical volunteers, including physicians, dentists, optometrists, audiologists, nurses, physical therapists, physician assistants and other healthcare professionals, to places where their teaching and healing skills are needed most.

Physicians for Peace Philippines (PFPP) envisions to be a recognized non-governmental organization strengthening health systems to address health service inequity.

PFPP General Policies and Primary Purpose of Existence

To promote international friendship and peace through medicine dedicated to improve and provide the necessary healthcare to the needy through continuing education utilizing the donated services of volunteer professionals.

To promote, assist, coordinate and sponsor interchanges, lectures, symposia and exchange visits between and among professionals both locally and internationally, using the highest standards of medical ethics and personal integrity.

To identify, develop and coordinate medical programs involving the delivery of volunteer health care and medical education/training to the needy and maintain the resources to fund its activities through donations and charitable Endeavour’s.

Clientele / Beneficiaries

Physicians for Peace Philippines aims to provide quality healthcare to patients who need surgical operation, cataract operation, mobility device, prostheses, medical consultation with free medicines, dental services, optical care with eyeglasses, burn care, hearing health care and other medical services. Beneficiaries are coursed through the assessment by Department of Social Welfare, Department of Education, supportive of goals of the Department of Health and in coordination with the local government units in healthcare missions.

PFPP in line with the National Ethical Guidelines for Health and Health Related Research (NEGHHR 2017) “ensures that people are safeguarded from potential and unintended harm”. PFPP promotes the ‘do not harm policy” in providing health care services;
